  • 1 packet onion soup mix Contains dried onions, beef bouillon, and herbs.
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained Fire-roasted tomatoes add smoky depth.

Preparation
  1. Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Ensure your workspace is clear and ingredients are within easy reach.
Cooking
  1. Add ground beef to the hot skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until meat is evenly browned.
  2. Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over the browned beef and stir thoroughly to coat all meat pieces. Cook for 1 minute.
  3. Pour the entire can of diced tomatoes, including juice, into the skillet. Stir to combine, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let stand for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute 93/7 lean ground beef. Add vegetables like finely diced bell peppers or mushrooms during the browning phase for added nutrition.
