Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, freshly grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and trim the green beans into 2-inch pieces. Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove excess fat if desired.
  2. Add onions and garlic to the beef. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until onions become translucent. Add grated ginger and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Add green beans to the wok. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they reach your desired tenderness. Add the sauce mixture and toss to combine. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, reheat in a skillet over medium heat rather than using a microwave. The dish can also be frozen for up to 2 months, although the texture of the green beans may change slightly.
