Preparation and Seasoning
- Remove pork chops from refrigeration 15 minutes before cooking to ensure even temperature distribution. Pat each chop completely dry using paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, pepper, brown sugar, and cayenne.
Oil Application and Seasoning
- Brush both sides of each pork chop with olive oil. Generously apply the spice mixture.
- Allow seasoned chops to rest for 5 minutes.
Air Fryer Setup
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Initial Cooking Phase
- Place pork chops in the air fryer basket without overlapping.
- Cook for 6 minutes without opening the basket.
Flipping and Final Cook
- Carefully flip each pork chop using tongs.
- Cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, depending on thickness.
Temperature Verification
- Insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest portion of each chop to verify a temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove chops upon reaching the target temperature.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for optimal crispiness. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days.
